KEY PROJECTS

 2020-2022: Validation and promotion of sustainable charcoal and briquette production and utilization technologies for improved livelihoods. The project is being implemented in Baringo, Kajiado and Kisumu and runs from January 2020 to January 2022. The total grant amount is Ksh. 19,910,490.00 where Egerton University Grant amount is Ksh. 6,154,860.00

2017- 2019: Kenya sectoral appraisal. This was under the 3R (robust, reliable resilient)- from ‘Aid to Trade’ project a 3.5 years initiative implemented by Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands in collaboration with various Kenya partner institutions and funded by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kenya (EKN). The 3R project aimed  to draw lessons from various initiatives: projects funded under EKN programmes in Agriculture and Food and Nutrition Security (FNS); ventures investing in market-led approaches; to develop innovative business solutions to drive competitive agri-food sectors in Kenya with a focus on dairy, horticulture and aquaculture sectors.  EURO 83,628

2015-2017: Grasshopper/ Locust Farming as a Sustainable Feed/ Food Ingredient Source for Nonruminant Livestock and Humans for Enhanced Food Security, Poverty Alleviation, and Resilience to Climate Change in Kenya.  Budget- USD 100,000

  

2014-2016: Innovative engagement of rural communities through student internship program funded by RUFORUM 1st December 2014-31st November 2016 (100,000 dollars). 

2012: Internal research funds provided by Egerton University to undertake an exploratory study on the “The Clean Development Mechanism: An Analysis of the Implementation in Kenya” from 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2012. Position: Principal investigator (KES 398,310.00).
