As a Faculty we are proud of our graduates because they are preferred in the job market. This is because our teaching incorporates an extensive practical component comprising three industrial attachments that sharpen the skills  of  our  students. Annually  the Faculty declares an undergraduate capacity of 150 places. Currently, the total student population is 879. At the postgraduate level we attract students locally and internationally, mainly from Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology on Wednesday, 29 September, held a Water in Nexus with Agriculture sensitization meeting at Main Campus in Njoro with lecturers from the Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Education and Community Studies as well as international partners from The Netherlands. 

The new Director of Confucius Institute (CI) Prof. Liu Yutao paid a courtesy call to the Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof. Japheth Onyando on 6 January 2022. The Director is from the College of Engineering at Nanjing Agricultural University, China.

Two Egerton University students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Joseph Nguthiru and Charles Kinyua, have been invited to present their award winning project at the World Engineering Day on March 4^th this year.

The Egerton University banner was flown high during the just concluded World Engineering Day Hackathon after a project by two of its students scooped third place globally. The virtual event was held on 4 March 2022. The final year students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology presented their project dubbed Hyapak that had been shortlisted alongside nine other projects from across the world that had made it to the finals.

A team from the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) led by their Chief Executive Officer Dr Tonny Omwansa visited Egerton University on 5 and 6 April 2021 to review the institution’s commercialization and technology transfer efforts.

Centre for Integrated water and Basin Management (CIWAB) in collaboration with World Wide Fund (WWF) Kenya and other partners are currently implementing a project Catchment to Tap (C2T).

Biodegradable Hyacinth plastic, an Innovation by Egerton University Student in the faculty of Engineering wins during the Kenya Innovation Week, Nairobi. 

For the second year in a row, Egerton University engineers, Joseph Nguthiru and Charles Rugendo have an innovation that has been shortlisted for presentation in World Engineering Day globally.

The innovation, dubbed Eco-Fluido, is among the top 12 innovations selected to be showcased on March 4^th during the World Engineering Day Hackathon

CERTIFICATION TRAINING-Egerton University and NTSA Endorsement Class G

Egerton University's Faculty of Engineering, led by Professor Japheth Onyando, the Dean, and Dr. Patrick Wamalwa, the program coordinator of CIWAB (Centre for Integrated Water and Basin Management), recently organized a two-week certification training for Tractor Operation and Maintenance course

In a  session with the Faculty of Engineering students Thursday afternoon, Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kibwage displayed unwavering support and encouragement for the innovative endeavors of the students.
