EGERTON UNIVERSITY TEAM LEADS IN TREE PLANTING CEREMONY IN COMMEMORATION OF PROF. SAMUEL KABUITU KARIUKI
Egerton University and the family of the late Prof. Samuel Thomas Kabuitu Kariuki famously known as Prof. S.T. alias “a walking plant taxonomy dictionary” today held a tree-planting ceremony at the University’s Botanic Garden. The ceremony hosted by the Division of Research and Extension together with the Department of Biological Sciences was in honour and remembrance of the late Prof. S.T. Kariuki who was the founder and in charge of the Garden since its inception in the year 2002. The Botanic Garden serves as a Biodiversity Conservation Centre, research and training facility as well as a recreation centre. In attendance during the ceremony was Prof. Bockline Bebe Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (R&E), the family of the late Prof. S.T, Egerton University staff members and members of the community.
